So, today was the first full day in Argentina. It was a bit rough to get down to El Chalten to begin the trip in earnest. The flight was at 6:00 am, so I left the hotel at 3:00 am. This, after arriving the previous day from a total of about 15 hours flying, at 9:00 am. So, I went without sleep for about 36 hours, slept for about 5 or so hours, then got up and headed to the airport. At this point, writing this, I am a bit a delirious with lack of sleep.
But, that said, today was nice. We hiked the Mirador de los Condors which provided an amazing view of Fitz Roy. It was only five miles, but Friday is the beginning of the big days.Then, we had a nice dinner at a local restaurant. Tomorrow is a most-of-the-day kayaking trip on the las Leonis river. It sounds as though we may see salmon. We may hike thereafter, and plan to have a nice evening dinner at a local pub.
