I’ve been waking up early, and I only had so much time at Mizo no Uta (Song of Water). Since I wanted to finally start hiking, but I also wanted to get more quality time with the onsen, I woke up naturally (jet lagged) at 4:30. I left to hike by 4:45 am. Checkout was at 11, so I hiked Mount Monbetsudake (only about 3000 feet up) and back by about 8 am!
Then, I had about a three hour drive to my next hotel, and wanted to hit the Blue Pool, so I hit the onsen, had my super fancy Japanese breakfast, and hit the road!
Then I did the Blue Pool. Couldn’t find a more Insta friendly spot.
Then, onward to Asahidake.
