The kayaking trip was a good bit of fun. An easy 5 miles or so down the Rio de los Vueltas. I had a partner for the trip, Sally, who is a woman in her mid-70s from Wisconsin and terribly sweet. She comes into the story again later (since I am now writing this near the end of the trip). There were very significant variances in kayaking ability among the group, and the guides were somewhat grumpy about following the line (e.g. the path laid out by the main guide). Still, it was an absolutely stunning location. We basically kayaked alongside Fitz Roy for the entire two hours. Some pics.
Just afterward, we did a short hike to a nearby waterfalls, Chorillo del Salto . The following day, we hiked near the top of this waterfall. At this point, I’m making pretty decent friends with two retired blokes from Liverpool, Martin and Kevin. Then, a group dinner at a local restaurant. A few pics.
